PRESS final conference
The final conference of the PRESS project took place September 8–11, 2025, at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University (BSU), Georgia. The event attracted 98 participants, comprising 43 in-service and pre-service teachers from Georgia.
The opening ceremony featured addresses by Prof. Tite Aroshidze, Rector of BSU, and Prof. Nino Doborjginidze, the Rector of Ilia State University.
The project coordinator Prof. Ingo Eilks presented akeynote address, emphasizing the project’s objectives, key achievements, and sustainable impact.
Representatives from Georgia, Indonesia, and Israel presented findings from the PRESS Project implementation. A panel discussion, moderated by Prof. Marika Kapanadze, explored ways to align formal and non-formal education systems with global sustainability goals.
Prof. Avi Hofstein from Israel’s Weizmann Institute of Science addressed the critical role of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) in STEM education.
The comprehensive program featured 12 interactive workshops, 36 poster presentations, and an ecological field expedition investigating the biodiversity of the Lake Paliastomi’s distinctive ecosystem.
