PRESS final conference

The final confe­rence of the PRESS project took place September 8–11, 2025, at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State Univer­sity (BSU), Georgia. The event attracted 98 parti­ci­pants, compri­sing 43 in-service and pre-service teachers from Georgia.

The opening ceremony featured addresses by Prof. Tite Aroshidze, Rector of BSU, and Prof. Nino Dobor­j­gi­nidze, the Rector of Ilia State University.

The project coordi­nator Prof. Ingo Eilks presented  akeynote address, empha­si­zing the project’s objec­tives, key achie­ve­ments, and sustainable impact.

Repre­sen­ta­tives from Georgia, Indonesia, and Israel presented findings from the PRESS Project imple­men­ta­tion. A panel discus­sion, moderated by Prof. Marika Kapanadze, explored ways to align formal and non-formal educa­tion systems with global sustaina­bi­lity goals.

Prof. Avi Hofstein from Israel’s Weizmann Insti­tute of Science addressed the critical role of Educa­tion for Sustainable Develo­p­ment (ESD) in STEM education.

The compre­hen­sive program featured 12 inter­ac­tive workshops, 36 poster presen­ta­tions, and an ecolo­gical field expedi­tion inves­ti­ga­ting the biodi­ver­sity of the Lake Palias­to­mi’s distinc­tive ecosystem.
